It was the busiest August ever. I was on the river at least one of every 3 days. The water levels were slowly falling and the air temperatures were cooler than normal. My competitors all but vanished and my clients and I had the river to ourselves. The catching was excellent assuming you were in my boat. Many St.Croix anglers and guides alike were left wondering where the fish were. When you specialize on guiding the river like I do, you know where to find them when the fishing gets tough.
