The St.Croix River Valley is a large and beautiful area. Despite the proximity to population centers such as Minneapolis and St.Paul Minnesota, the valley offers outstanding fishing opportunities. I have been active in the St.Croix River Valley for 3 decades participating in a variety of adventures that include skiing, rock climbing and of course, fishing. In 1997 I started guiding the eastern valley's famous trout water, Wisconsin's Rush and Kinnickinnic Rivers. In 1998 I purchased my first driftboat and with the help of my friends started exploring the water that would eventually become my signature floats that clients enjoy today. In 2001, I launched Great Northern Adventures and was the first guide service operating from the Twin Cities, to employ the use of a Mackenzie drift boat on the upper St.Croix River. A decade later the fishing remains excellent and I am as excited as ever to continue guiding in the valley with my new business, St.Croix Valley Adventures LLC.

My guide service is modeled after services found in the western United States, where the guide to client ratio is one guide per one or two anglers. All trips are conducted on moving water i.e. rivers. The trips can be in the form of a (walk-in) wade fishing trip for Trout, or from a drift boat (float-trip) for Bass and Pike. I specialize in fly-fishing however I can accommodate and certainly welcome those of you who prefer to spin-fish. In the past decade, I have guided anglers of all ages and skill levels. Each type of trip that I offer can be modified to best accommodate the individual(s) skill set and/or expectations. The only particular that I insist on is resource protection so therefore, the fishing is strictly catch and release. The walk-in trips for Trout are conducted in the Spring months Of April, May, and June while the float trips start in June and end the middle of October.

I supply cool hand-tied flies on every outing; every full day trip includes beverages and a great home made lunch. Need equipment?
